What I do at Relationship One
I head up the Production Services team here at Relationship One, which is responsible for building out and implementing high-quality Marketing Automation (MA) campaigns and assets for clients using Eloqua, Responsys, Marketo, and other MA platforms. With a mix of MA platform-specific professionals and front-end developers working side-by-side, we deliver timely work with intelligent considerations to the right tools, the right people, and the right processes to fit our clients' needs.
Why Relationship One
Relationship One is a great place to work for many reasons, but I'll focus on three:
- Challenging work and opportunities for growth — Being a service-oriented agency with a broad range of clients, there really isn't a typical day. Every day brings new opportunities and challenges to learn from, work through, and solve for our clients. And in the occasional quiet periods, we encourage people to take advantage of those lulls to further their personal development and knowledge.
- Great people — I know that the word "family" is sometimes overused when it comes to descriptions of work environments, but it's true for Relationship One. We truly care about each other and want to help each other out as much as we can. I will also say that my colleagues here are some of the best I have ever had the pleasure of working with.
- Great environment — We're a fully remote company, so your work environment is wherever you want it to be. As long as you have a solid internet connection and get your work done on time, the sky's the limit.
Who am I?
I started my professional life as a graphic designer, working in both digital and print media. After a couple of decades in that realm, I noticed that the graphic design field was shifting towards being a commodity rather than a speciality. So, I pivoted my focus more to the web design & front-end development space, ultimately moving entirely to front-end development. Here at Relationship One, I started out as a front-end developer in 2017 before being being given the opportunity to lead the Production Services team in 2019. I still get the opportunity to contribute to front-end projects when needed as well.
Advice for prospective candidates
I'll leave you with four pieces of advice:
- Be honest, open, and inquisitive
- Love marketing and marketing technology with a deep, abiding passion
- Know your stuff, inside and out... but if you don't know it, know how to find it
- Be yourself!
